The very best things.

The most wonderful times in life are unexpected. They can not be planned or orchestrated. To enjoy them, one must find a moment and lose control, relinquish authority, and admit one's need. It is often that I begin to see God's love for us in a new way when doing the strangest things, like; watching an animated film, mowing grass or even enjoying water hit my face as I shower off the days dirt and grime. I think that deep inside we are such simple creatures. Creatures that were made to find the most extreme joy in basking in the glory of He who is greater than us. There is no doubt that we all seek to find unidentifiable fulfillment by the things that we accomplish. We try to make ourselves bigger and better than we need to be. We are afraid to just breath and be who God made us. I've been thinking, (my wife says this is dangerous activity for me), thinking about the fact that Jesus said that he hides the wisdom and riches of his kingdom from the wise and intelligent and chooses to reveal them to babes (the poor, and the simple). So opposite of what I have always done. To pursue wealth and knowledge was more than a personal need, it was a responsibility. Drilled into me as a child, reinforced as a new christian, and confirmed throughout my adult life. And the most interesting thing is, I am still convinced of that education and productivity are two of God's great gifts to us. So I'm pondering. Why does our creator choose to invade our lives apart from accomplishment and knowledge. I have ideas, but I think it best to let you think on these things.
